Let Me Count the Ways I Love & Hate Car Shopping

Posted on

We are car shopping. This spring/summer we will trade in my Suzuki Verona (2004). It was a great car, but I really want a SUV again or a crossover.

Since it will be a few more months we are taking our time. Looking at every vehicle, test driving the ones we are really interested in, making sure there is no buyers remorse, and the cup holders are the same size. We really liked our current car and failed to notice the cup holders. One is the normal size, the other is tiny. Nothing fits in it. Not a bottle of water, or a bottle…nothing, so now we make sure to look.

We also decided since we will have this vehicle awhile and it will be the main family vehicle we would go ahead and splurge on all (or most) of the bells and whistles.

A few of the things we are looking for:

  • Good/Decent gas mileage. So far, they are all pretty comparable.
  • Spacious
  • Storage
  • Leather
  • Sun roof and/or panoramic sun roof
  • Entertainment system
  • Navigation
  • Sync

A couple fall in the lottery range:

2012 Audi Q7 - Test Driven

2013 Inifinity Q56 - Test Driven

Others are closer to our price range, but aren’t my favorite:

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

2012 Ford Explorer

While a few others I was kinda surprised I liked. I have test driven both of these:

2012 Dodge Durango Citadel - Test Driven

2012 Kia Sorento - Test Driven

At the moment this is my top pick. I really liked every thing about it. The look inside and out. The features. The drive.

2012 Honda Pilot Touring - Test Driven

Do you have one of these vehicle? What do you love/hate about it? Opinions needed!
